Why? Because everyone has a dog! They all have stories and anecdotes and opinions and worries about their dogs. The topic of dog behavior seems to be fairly easy for everyone to discuss, since dogs don’t tell tales or talk back.
When people describe their neighbor’s crazy dog, you can nod and offer sage opinions, but the good news is, every potential conversation is a possible future client. If you have a well-behaved dog, people notice you. You are welcome at coffee shops, cafes, at the dog park or the local park. Local vets, dog friendly restaurants, and pet retail stores are great gathering spots and also great complimentary businesses.
If you like to make your own hours, wear comfy clothes, combine exercise & work, and enjoy talking to people; you may be a dog trainer. There are many resources to choose from. Check into a dog training academy that provides accredited trainers and a certification program. If you love dogs, want a flexible job, and you want to educate others about what you love, this may be your dream career!
